We're now in Chicago and staying at my daughter, Erin's, place in the Edgewater neighborhood. I had some free time in the morning, so out came the old sketchpad and watercolor palette.
At first, I was going to grab a chair and cozy up to her very large tomato plants to sketch. Ummm....the heat and humidity made that idea very uncomfortable. So I took a few pictures of her different plants and combined them in this small watercolor and ink sketch.
The larger tomatoes are as big as softballs. I'm not kidding -- and they're not done growing! The little ones are small pear tomatoes, which are yellow when ripe.
