A different kind of poster

I design a lot of posters.

A lot.

Working for The Matthews is a very full time, crank 'em out poster heaven -- plus any other pixel related material they need.

I was inspired a couple of months ago to do something less digital.  Jay Ryan, silk screen artist, spoke at a lunch in Rapid City.  Watching his process struck a cord in me.  Now, I don't do silk screening, but I can draw and paint.

So, with the Festival in the Park event for The Matthews looming, I decided to sketch and then paint a commemorative poster.  It was liberating.  Lines, doodles, paint, ink and plain white paper.

It is 18" x 24."  The 12" x 17" poster created from the original is also a fundraiser for The Matthews.
