A couple of weeks ago I put a teaser image of my commission on my blog. Here is the whole enchilada! This was my first attempt at ocean/seascapes. I was a bit intimidated by this at first, but it went much faster than I thought would happen.
I had to wait for it to dry completely before getting her all wired up. Jack and I delivered it to my friends and clients this past Monday, just as a Black Hills spring blizzard was taking a firm foothold. They live on a tall hill in Deadwood and we live on an even higher hill in Lead (neighboring town).
We would have loved to sit with them by the fire and have had one more drink, but thought it best to get going when the going was good.
Maybe we should have left earlier.
Neither of us were able to get to our house in Lead. I had to leave the car 3 blocks downhill that evening. Work was called off for 2 days (nice) but it continued snowing until Wednesday afternoon. Here is what my car looked like 1 1/2 days later!
