Finished one painting--started another!

Wooo hoooo! Got to go to my studio yesterday. I resisted the urge to go outside and do more gardening. Finished the oil (above) painting I started a couple of weeks ago. I'm still pondering a title. Maybe it will be called, "Apple Blossom Time (in Grand Detour)."

Once I finished "Apple Blossom," I started another 20"x24" oil still life (below). I did this in acrylic during the Alzheimer's benefit about 6 weeks ago. Since that was auctioned off, and I really enjoyed working with the colors and light/shadow thing....I decided to do it again for myself, but this time in oils. One more day in the studio and this painting will be com
plete!

Debbie joined me halfway through the afternoon. It was her last day of school and summer vacation has officially begun for her. She was working on a portrait of her husband, John (below). After we decided to call it quits for the day, I went to their house to cook them dinner. A new recipe! My husband, Jeff, was at his golf league and I didn't want to go home and eat popcorn for supper! Great pasta, good wine, and good friends make life worth living.
